Role Summary
As the Cash Collection Senior Manager, you will own Horizon's end-to-end cash conversion cycle across all customer segments: collections, dunning, DSO reduction and overdue recovery. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will govern the credit risk, provisioning and write-off frameworks, lead and upskill the collection team, and steer performance through target assignment and monitoring, clear KPIs definition and Cash Collection Committee reporting. You will serve as Horizon's owner of cash inflows and receivables health, working closely with Commercial, Legal, Finance, Customers and other external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own the full cash conversion cycle: collections, dunning, DSO and overdue reduction across all customer segments.
- Validate and approve payments recorded by officers, controlling conformity of amount, matching and method, and remediating data errors.
- Track outstanding across all accounts by segment and aging level, and drive DSO reduction against precise targets.
- Manage the overdue backlog and long-term debt collection.
- Manage the collection team: allocate accounts, set clear targets and monitor daily/weekly performance.
- Steer the dunning and escalation process end-to-end: negotiation, management escalation, settlement, warning letters, service freeze / suspension and termination triggers on non-payment.
- Track cases forwarded to Legal and their recovery outcome.
- Prepare and submit rationalized, documented decision requests to management on failed long-term recovery cases.
- Enforce the credit risk framework: assess customer creditworthiness, define exposure limits by segment, maintain the high-risk customer list, and feed credit criteria into contracting / renewal / service-freeze decisions.
- Provide pre-contract credit assessment in support of the commercial cycle.
- Own the monthly provisioning input on receivables and support the aging- and segment-differentiated ECL model, collaborating with accounting teams.
- Own the write-off framework: identify irrecoverable balances, prepare case files, and route proposals for Finance Director / Cash Collection Committee / management validation.
- Own the Cash Collection Committee: set weekly performance review, report status, blockers and resolution actions to management.
- Own cash collection data completeness and quality in the ERP (payment terms, matching, C/D notes) as the basis for reliable aging.
- Automate collection reporting from the ERP Payment Collection tables.
